Our Activity Areas ​

1) Conduct research projects to reveal the biodiversity potential of Iğdır, its surroundings, and Turkey, encourage relevant authorities, and support the development of Turkey's biodiversity databases with local data resources.

2) Strengthen cooperation among public institutions, NGOs, and the university to address educational gaps in biodiversity and update knowledge.

3) Promote awareness and conservation efforts regarding Turkey's biological richness.

4) Monitor and share developments in biodiversity domestically and internationally, publish findings, and organize national and international panels, congresses, conferences, and similar events.

5) Provide audiovisual materials related to biodiversity for use by university faculty, students, and the public.

6) Collaborate with national and international institutions to supply materials for biotechnological studies and utilize naturally occurring species as genetic resources.

7) Conduct research and develop methods in partnership with relevant institutions to support regional ecotourism on a scientific basis.

8) Raise awareness about biopiracy and offer training on this issue.

9) Organize nature camps for elementary, secondary, and university students, as well as adults, providing nature education.

10) Guide foreign researchers conducting biological studies in Turkey, supervise the use of materials (plants, insects, reptiles, etc.), and collaborate with relevant public institutions.

11) Undertake other activities aligned with the center's objectives and the aims and principles outlined in the Higher Education Law.
